tee time

Currently, I'm obsessed with t-shirts. I just got this new one from Star Styling: Rest in Peace Yves Saint Laurent. It's slightly oversized and goes perfectly with skinny jeans or leggins, love it!
Then, I am also a big fan of the 5 Preview shirts. They are having a new collaboration with the Swedish shop Weekday and selling these two tees. Unfortunatelly, there are just available in Scandinavia...

Alternatively, there is still the classy Via Cavour t-shirt from 5 Preview, which can be ordered via their blog. However, I am not sure if it is still available...

I also really like this T-shirt by blogger Danny Roberts with the Girls in Glasses...

... and of course the good old Save Anna tee from Christopher LeeSauve...

Daisy's big sis

This Fall Marc Jacobs is introducing his new fragrance Lola, with the face of Karlie Kloss.
In contrast to Daisy, Lola is supposed to be more vampy, sensual and flirty...
I am excited to try it out!!

goody bag

These bags from the Chanel Fall 09 collection really made me smile. I vaguely remeber having something similar when I was a little girl to store my dolls' accessories. Obviously, these versions are more sophisticated holding an adorable quilted bag and other useful Chanel things. It is a bit unclear if these bag creations have any practical relevance; but still Karl just always has the best und funniest ideas and who would say no to the Chanel goody bag??

Happy B-day Barbie

Today, it's Barbie's 50th Birthday, and after all these years she still looks stunning and remains a best-seller.
Barbie has always been very controversial concering her adequateness as a kids toy and the distorted image of women she is said to convey.
As for me, I had lots of Barbies, perhaps 40 or so, and 3 Kens and the Jeep, the dream house, and countless outfits....:) and after all I would not consider myself as having been taught a wrong beauty ideal. What I actually want to say is that Barbie is fun and I always enjoyed having them. I guess on the weekend I have to get my old Barbie box out of the basement:)

As you can see below, Barbie experienced quite a developement since her early days...

That's the first Barbie in her striped swimsuit. (Ken used to look so different, too!)
I guess, that's the Barbie of my era with a huge fringe, bright make-up and all the funky outfits:)

Well and that's today's Barbie with perfect hair and smokey eyes.
These are some of the Designers' versions of Barbie:

Calvin Klein

Anna Sui

And recently Karl styled and photographed some Barbies. They can be admired in form of a little exibition at Colette in Paris from today until March 15.

Coco Avant Chanel

Finally, the trailer of the biopic about Coco Chanel is out. Audrey Tautou (excellent choice!!) is starring the young Gabriele, which revolutionized women's wear and thus helped to form the modern woman. The movie is based on the biography by Edmonde Charles-Roux and deals with the first, less pleasant part, of Coco's life, which she always tried very hard to hide. So the movie is going to be exciting, as it reveals new facets of this great woman; plus the customes are going to be supervised by Karl himself!

The movie is going to start April 22 in France and Belgium. The date of release for the U.S. is not yet set; it is showing in the Netherlands May 28, but unfortunatelly I found no info on the start in Germany.

Enough of talking, voila le trailer, which is just avaliable in French:

Big shoulders

At first I was a bit skeptical about the "big shoulders" trend. But once I got used to it, I can't actually get enough anymore! I wonder when Zara & Co. are finally showing some great pieces with big shoulder pads, I'll be the first to get one....!!

Christophe Decarnin is the master of big shoulders, they're again a big theme in his new Fall 09 collection.

Twenty8Twelve also showed some nice tops with big shoulders. I really like the left one, it should be pretty easy to wear...

Fame Leggins

Last week I discovered these leggins, called Fame, in the shop window of Wolford. It's such a fun idea that you can wrap them around your ankle and I imagine they just look fabulous with heels and even flats. Then again, they cost around 70 Euros and I'm in doubt if they do actually look good, if you don't have the longest legs....
So what do you think about this precious legware, is it a must-have for Spring or rather not...?

red carpet, white dresses

The major trend at this year's Oscar night seems to be about creamy white, strapless dresses. These ladies' choices are just fabulous:

Anne Hathaway in Armani Prive

Evan Rachel Wood in Elie Saab Haute Couture

Jessica Biel in a sculptural Prada dress

Penelope Cruz in a princess like vintage Balmain circa 1950

I also really liked Natalie Portman in a girlie pink Rodarte dress.
