Shine on

After nearly two weeks of perfect weather, it just started getting all rainy again...so in order to distract myself I turn to Australian Fashion Week and I'm just totally taken with the Australian girls' gorgeous and oh-so fresh outfits:

I just love this A-Wang sweater worn with the sheer leggins...

...and this girl really rocks her Missoni frock. So I always thought that anything more than a Missoni scarf could be overkill, but this lady taught me better!

Then, I have also been spending some quality time with my new MiuMiu gladiators, which means walking them around in my 25 square feet student appartment...:) I can't wait for summer, so I can take them out for real!!!

leopard scarf

I have been searching for a great leopard scarf, like this one from Louis Vuitton for a long time...
Last week, I finally found one chez Zara...

the scarf is really cozy and so versatile, due to the dark shades. I guess, I'm gonna wear it a lot!!

By the way, today was the most beautiful Sunday in a long time. I spent my day sitting in a Cafe, sipping Latte Machiatto and absorbing the sun...it felt so good!

Alaaf you

It's Carnival and in Cologne the celebrations are huge! It practically means six days of partying, dressing up, drinking beer (not so my favourite) and having fun with good old friends.
For me Carnival turned out to be sweet and short this year. I went partying on Thursday, but got ill shortly after:(
Well, on the day I actually went out, I dressed up as Minnie Mouse, with a black tulle skirt, little tailored jacket, lots of bows and pearl necklaces, my "customized" Chucks and my black "Minnie ears".

Voila, the result:

It was a really fun day...
Alaaf to all of you!

Bloc Party concert

I just came back from the Bloc Party concert and I had a great time!! The boys were so adorable with their British accent, trying to speak some German, and all the songs were so much better in live! I made some videos, but they're really bad quality...so instead I'm just showing you my outfit of tonight.

I'm wearing Zara shorts and jacket, Armed Angels T-shirt and Prego boots.
Ohh, and of course in real "groupi" spirit I had to buy one of their T-shirts:)

Isabel Marant oui/non ?

Today, I went to Muchachas, my favourite boutique here in Maastricht. They just got a whole new bunch of Isabel Marant spring clothes! I am so in love with this brand, so I had to try it all on immediately. I really like this skirt, it's so cute. Still I'm not 100% sure...
What do you guys think, buy it yes or no?

They also had a really cute washed out denim jacket and a lovely summer dress!
I really had to restrain myself from buying it all at once...

Paris goodies

Shopping in Paris is insane!
The city offers everything a shopping addict could possibly wish for: fabulous French brands like Isabel Marant and Zadig&Voltaire, boutiques from all the big designers and great vintage shops...and of course there is shopping mekka Colette, which is one of the most inspirational stores ever!
But when shopping in Paris there are not just great clothes, but also über-stylish people to look at (e.g. I spotted French Voguette Geraldine Saglio at le Bon Marche!). Well and if you ever feel tired of all the shopping, you can just make a pit-stop chez Laduree!

I already showed you the black dress I got from Z&V. These are some of my other Paris buys:

Scarf and belt from Zadig & Voltaire.

Isabel Marant tunic.

Black pair of classy Repetto flats.

And of course I got the fabulous Lara Stone issue, way too many macaroons and I finally bought the great Marc Jacobs documentary from Arte, which is just availble in MJ stores.

10 minutes at Zara are enough to...

...try 5 different outfits, violate several new year resolutions and get totally excited for the new spring looks.
Today, I had to run some errands and took a few minutes in between to "look around" at Zara. Well as you can imagine, it turned out to be a little more than just having a quick look, as a new bunch of spring clothes had just arrived...
Voila, some of the pieces, which I particullary liked:

these lace-up, peep-toes

these boots a la Isabel Marant SS09

this cozy scarf with different pink shades

well and this military style Tunic, which goes perfectly with the scarf and which I ended up buying...it's always the same story...

my take on harem pants

I have been searching them for a long time: the über-cool, drop-crotch pants a la Emanuelle Alt. They have been seen in many different versions on spring runways and begun hitting high street stores like Zara & Co. Now I finally found my perfect pair! They're from Isabel Marant Etoile and I bougth them at my favourite store here in Maastricht!

I think they look great with a pair of heels and a slim blazer for the evening, and just a tank and flats for daytime!

Chateau Chateau

Today, I made little trip to Chateau St. Gerlach, near Maastricht...

I'm wearing a twenty8twelve skirt by S.Miller, FCUK cardigan, Petit Bateau shirt & Drykorn coat.

Chauteau St. Gerlach is a luxirious hotel in Valkenburg near Maastricht. It's located in a nature reserve and consists of old monumental buildings. It has a really cute bistrot, called Bistrot de Liege, which offers weekly menues, small local dishes and delicious cakes. My personal favourite is the home-made Apfelstrudel!

I'm cute, I'm flirty, I'm pink...

So, what is hiding inside this lovely birthday gift, which I got this morning??

I think, I'm in love with you!! We're gonna have so much fun, dinner parties and long nights out...

There is nothing better than spending some quality time with your best friends, especially if you didn't see them for a long long time...

show me your closet!

Jessie from Les Mads is asking us to share our ideas and inspirations on how to structure a closet! A well assorted closet is always a difficult undertaking...I think it requires space and descipline and a lot of love for your clothes...So here I'm showing you mine; this is my closet in Maastricht, where I'm studying. Back home I have a larger one with more stuff, so this might not be too representative...but still...

By the way, this is how I keep my earings and necklaces.

Ahhh, I wish I had Carrie's closet...

wine tasting

On Saturday I did a really interesting wine tasting workshop
at Vintage in Cologne. I learned how to classify wine by its colour, smell and taste, the different quality levels and the food they match best. I usually prefer red whine, but I tasted a very delicious white wine: a Muskateller from Wüttenberg. This wine is often mistaken for a sweet one, but indeed it is constructed in a dry way and goes perfectly with Asian food.
All in all, I had a great day, apart from eating too much bread with olive oil and mini quiches...

I'm wearing a Comptoir des Contonniers sleeveless dress, Mango jacket, See by Chloe coat and Moschino gloves.
