Art Cologne

Last week I visited the Art Cologne, the biggest German fair for contemporary art, with my girlfriends. After negative press during the last two years, the fair was able to recover and showed some good pieces. Voila a few impressions:

Today, it's the last day of TEFAF and I want to share some of my impressions. Voila a few pictures showing some great pieces of art, my friend Carola and me and the interior decoration of the fair...

the TEFAF is known for its rich flower decoration. The walls of the main entrance were covered with pink and white roses - so pretty!!!

Actually, the TEFAF is so much more fabulous than I could ever capture on pictures...

TEFAF

The European Fine Art Fair (TEFAF), which is the world's most prestigious art and antiques fair, is going to take place from the 13. - 22.03 here in Maastricht. I went there last year for the first time and was speachless about the incredible masterpieces showcased, most of which you would actually expect to see in a Museum. Last year's highlight was a van Gogh painting priced at 30 million Euros; so these are the dimension were are actually talking about!

Tomorrow is going to be the preview, which is just insane: people arriving in their private jets, the creme de la creme of galerists and art collectors!

In case you are interested in art, this fair is absolutely worthwhile. However, tickets are rather expensive at 55 Euros per person.

I am going to be there tomorrow at the preview (!) and some other days and I'll make sure to keep you posted about all the art and glamour!!

Alaaf you

It's Carnival and in Cologne the celebrations are huge! It practically means six days of partying, dressing up, drinking beer (not so my favourite) and having fun with good old friends.
For me Carnival turned out to be sweet and short this year. I went partying on Thursday, but got ill shortly after:(
Well, on the day I actually went out, I dressed up as Minnie Mouse, with a black tulle skirt, little tailored jacket, lots of bows and pearl necklaces, my "customized" Chucks and my black "Minnie ears".

It was a really fun day...

Bloc Party concert

I just came back from the Bloc Party concert and I had a great time!! The boys were so adorable with their British accent, trying to speak some German, and all the songs were so much better in live! I made some videos, but they're really bad quality...so instead I'm just showing you my outfit of tonight.


I'm wearing Zara shorts and jacket, Armed Angels T-shirt and Prego boots.
Ohh, and of course in real "groupi" spirit I had to buy one of their T-shirts:)

Passagen

Next week, Cologne is hosting a major interior design event: the Passagen are a platform for established and international designers, furniture manufacturers, architects, new talents and young networks. There will be around 190 single exibitions, exciting new projects and plenty of cocktail hours!

Vom 19. -25. Januar finden in Köln wieder die Passagen statt.
Anlässlich des 20. Geburtstags, präsentiert sich das Design Event größer, frischer und spannendet denn je!
Ich habe einen der Veranstalter gefragt und für Euch zusammengefasst, was man auf keinen Fall verpassen darf:

1. Designers Fair: Die Designshow für freie, junge Künstler findet zum ersten mal statt und zeigt Tendenzen jenseits des Mainstream! Pre-opening mit Cocktails findet am Sonntag, den 18.01 von 15.00-21.00 uhr statt.

Zeiten: Mo - Sa 11-22h, So 11-18h.
Außerdem im Rhein Triadem: junges Design aus dem Ruhrgebiet, junges Design aus den Niederlanden und die Fatboy Lounge.

2. A&W- Designer des Jahres: Alfredo Häberli
